Spring Benefit
More than 500 people attended the By The Hand Club For Kids 4th Annual Spring Benefit at the Museum of Science & Industry on May 7, 2009. By The Hand was blessed to receive $927,000 in contributions and pledges. Praise God, giving continues to come in as we strive for our goal of $1 Million, allowing us to meet our outstanding fiscal year budget need and increase our strategic growth fund.
The theme of the event was "His World Discovered. Their World Transformed.” By The Hand featured five student finalists from the Young Scientist Challenge. Our guests voted on the Grand Prize Winner, Rashad Brown, a 1st grader from Austin. Click here to view the five finalists videos.
Other highlights of the evening included:
- The 150 children from By The Hand Club who attended powerfully shared what God is doing in their lives through song, dance and personal testimonies.
- Pastor Jim Cymbala, The Brooklyn Tabernacle, spoke on John 4:32-34 challenging us to find personal fulfillment from finding and doing God’s will for our lives.
By The Hand would like to thank all those who made this evening a success: The By The Hand Board of Directors and Women’s Auxiliary Board, The Museum of Science & Industry, our table hosts, sponsors and matching gift donors and most importantly our guests. Your generosity is enabling us to help our children discover and transform their world by His love.
