Big Cool Globe Design The winner of the Cool Globe by Cool Kids design is the 1st grade team from Altgeld Gardens. Breanna, Albany, Marcello and Samera created the winning globe titled, “Plant a Tree. Help the Air.” In their lessons about the environment, the team was taught about the many things that pollute the air. They learned that one way to make the air cleaner was to plant trees. The team took this to heart stating, “Trees make oxygen and we need oxygen to breathe.” Their cool globe shows people planting trees and breathing the clean air. As you can see in these pictures, the first grade team from Altgeld Gardens is having a great time painting the big cool globe. The first graders look forward to formally presenting their Cool Globe at By The Hand’s Spring Benefit on May 8 at the Field Museum.
