Become a By The Hand Volunteer There is no greater way to shape the future than by investing your time in a child. At most, it only takes a few hours a week. But the investment can last a lifetime and affect generations to come. *Since By The Hand is a faith-based program, it is important that as a volunteer you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ (Romans 10:9) and are a member or regular attender of a church that is in full agreement with the principles of the Gospel. *As matter of procedure, we conduct criminal history background checks on all personnel, as well as volunteers working at By The Hand, prior to any service. *Be assured that our online application is secure and all personal information provided will be maintained in the confidential files of By The Hand. The information will be revealed only to By The Hand representatives and staff whose duties require access to this information and as required by law. In order to become a By The Hand volunteer, there are five steps: Come to one of our sites to be a Visiting Volunteer for the day. Please allow approximately 45 minutes: Read the doctrinal statement and sign, indicating you are in full agreement with what By The Hand teaches our children spiritually. Read the child abuse and harassment procedures and sign indicating you fully understand. Complete the 5-step online application form. Complete the Volunteer Orientation or contact Erin to schedule an in-person Orientation. This includes: The vision, mission, history and purpose of By The Hand Our Child Protection Policy and Quiz An overview of Kids' Evangelism Explosion Your Volunteer Profile Complete a personal interview. You will be contacted to schedule this once Steps 1-3 are completed. Begin volunteering!
